Airflo push the limits of advanced fly line technology to give fisherman improved casting performance and durability
With the launch of the original Superflo Max Ridge series, Airflo introduced one of the most innovative fly-line designs the market had seen. The new Superflo Max 2.0 pushes that innovation even further with the introduction of Max Hybrid technology — a major advancement aimed at improving casting efficiency, line speed and durability for modern fly anglers.

At the heart of the Superflo Max 2.0 is a sophisticated dual-polymer construction designed around the way a fly line behaves during the cast. In conventional fly lines, a significant amount of casting energy is lost as the thicker belly section flexes throughout the loop. Softer, more supple coatings require less energy to bend, allowing more power to transfer efficiently through the cast.
This is exactly the principle behind Airflo’s new Max Hybrid technology. By blending two polymers with differing stiffness levels, the line is engineered to improve energy transfer, increase line speed and deliver smoother, more efficient casting performance with virtually zero memory.
According to Airflo sales director and Welsh international angler Gareth Jones, adjusting the stiffness of the belly section allows the line to flex more efficiently, resulting in tighter loops, higher line speeds and greater casting distance.
The running line uses a slightly firmer material designed to maintain a perfectly round profile during high-speed casting. This reduces friction through the rod guides, improving shootability and enhancing overall performance when distance casting.
Durability has also been significantly improved. Airflo’s cycle testing against competing premium fly lines reportedly showed the Superflo Max 2.0 achieving more than double the lifespan of previous Airflo fly lines, making it one of the most durable floating fly lines currently available.
The Airflo Superflo Max 2.0 range is offered in three specialist tapers to suit different fishing styles and casting requirements:
Universal Taper
Designed as the ultimate all-round floating fly line, the Universal Taper performs exceptionally well across a broad range of fly rods and fishing situations. Available in WF3wt to WF8wt.
Tactical Taper
Featuring a delicate front taper and extended rear taper, the Superflo Max Tactical Taper is built for refined presentations and controlled long-distance casting. Available in WF2wt to WF7wt.
Power Taper
Built for turning over large flies, heavy indicators and bulky rigs, the Power Taper excels on fast-action rods and demanding fishing setups, making it ideal for streamer fishing and “bung” tactics.
The Superflo Max 2.0 is arguably the most technically advanced floating fly line Airflo has ever produced, combining exceptional shootability, impressive durability and highly efficient casting performance for anglers who demand the very best from their fly-fishing setup.
