Kevin Dinning netting a 3lb rainbow on Thruntons Long Crag lake.

An excellent week of weather has given the anglers the prefect opportunity to enjoy some top quality sport on both lakes. As the cooler mornings and later afternoons become more prolific, lures continue to take the majority of the fish. However, Diawl Bachs have also taken a good number of fish. Congratulations to Arnie Birchinall who landed a rainbow on Long Crag lake, that he estimated between 12-15lb.

It was a great relief to get some clear and positive guidance from the Angling Trust on Wednesday, as they confirmed that fisheries were able to stay open during the current lockdown, providing that anglers fish safely. Unfortunately, all competition have been put on hold during the lockdown but will hopefully be rescheduled for later in December or into 2021.
