Tail: Brown microfibbets or brown cock hackle fibres
Body: 1:2 mix of March brown and sulphur orange Superfine dubbing
Rib: 2.5lb brown monofilament
Wing: Four/five CDC plumes
Hackle: Short dun/brown or red game cock hackle, trimmed underneath
A March Brown pattern which really can be relied upon. It is versatile enough to also cover hatches of both large dark olive and olive upright.
The Double Badger is a fine and easily-tied dry-fly. Often used as an imitation on streams that flow from the Peak District, it will work during a hatch of tiny midge anywhere in the UK and abroad.
