View the guideLocated in the scenic heart of the Isle of Mull, the Benmore Estate has fantastic trout and salmon fishing across two river systems and various lochs. For a full day, two rods with a gillie, prices start at £250. The season starts in May and the 2024 season recorded a catch of 91 salmon across the Ba and Forsa systems. The estate has various accommodation options across the estate: from two night stays in luxury glamping pods to a week-long let in the exquisitely refurbished Benmore Lodge, based at the head of Loch Ba.
Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo Fishing is a family-owned fishery that combines both the Little Blackhall and Inchmarlo beats. Located on the scenic middle Dee, just a mile from Banchory, this double-banked fishery offers a diverse range of waters at affordable prices. The charming main lodge accommodates up to eight guests, featuring four double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious living room and a large kitchen-diner. Coldingham Loch is a 22-acre fly-fishery with six holiday cottages set in a small private estate in a beautiful coastal location in the south-east Scottish Borders. Handley Farm is a working farm on the Somerset/Devon border set in 50 acres of stunning hills and farmland. It offers three dog-friendly self-catering cottages, one with three bedrooms, one with two bedrooms, both with hot tubs and private secluded gardens, as well as a romantic one-bedroom cottage. All cottages have logburners and are considered luxury barn conversions. They are close to exceptional wild fishing. The River Taw is a very good spring river that always delivers excellent early season sport, carrying on until the end of September, given decent water. The River Dart is wild and raging with good brown trout fishing. Salmon fishing on the River Exe is a joy. For those wanting to fish closer to home, there is a decent half-acre coarsefishing lake on site that contains good plus-size fish.
A short walk from the River Torridge, The Half Moon Inn is a 16th-century, Grade II listed fishing inn nestled in the heart of the traditional, unspoilt Devon village of Sheepwash.Surrounded by picturesque countryside and wildlife, it is one of the few remaining fishing inns in Devon and has exclusive access to seven miles of salmon, sea-trout and brown trout fishing on the Torridge. Careysville House and Fishery nestles within 160 acres on the River Blackwater, only an hour’s drive from Cork Airport and two hours from Rosslare Port. A luxurious and comfortable lodge overlooking the fishery, Careysville House can accommodate up to 11 guests on a full-board basis during the salmon season. The house may also be let separately. There are four en-suite twin rooms, one en-suite double and a single room with a separate bathroom. Delicious home cooking is on offer, as well as Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
