Cling Mag Grab

The Cling Mag Grab is a modern fly patch made from anodised aircraft-grade aluminium with a high strength neodymium rare-earth magnet that allows you to hold flies and tools close at hand for quick and easy access. Available in Mini and Plus sizes, they combine an aluminium anti-rust backplate with a magnetic powder-coated front dish that can be attached to your fishing vest, wading jacket or any pack or bag. The Mini will hold over a dozen flies, allowing used patterns to dry quickly or giving you easy access to a days’ worth of selected favourites while on the move. Measuring 11/2in square by x 1/4in deep, we found it very useful when clipped to a chest pocket for popping attached flies safely on the magnet while wading, freeing both hands to check the leader, add droppers or change flies without the leader trailing in the water, becoming tangled or dropping precious patterns in the process. It’s also great for holding loose hooks while changing tube-flies. It is available in a range of colours with engraved designs.

The larger Plus model, measuring 21/2in square by 3/8in deep, is rather heavy to wear and we think it is better kept attached to a pack or bag where it can hold even more flies and tools. It has either an orange, white or black front dish to give maximum contrast against your flies.
